Comments: I'm a coach--I help people figure out their lives and their life purpose. It's done over the phone. Very often, I turn on Phoebe, put it on full screen and watch her patient repetitive task of nest building or chick-rearing. It soothes me and makes me more patient too. Thanks so much for doing it, you have helped a lot of people get good coaching and become happier!

Comments: I just found about this website a few days ago and am really enjoying seeing this gorgeous, joyful little bird in action. When I visited a cousin, who turns out to be a birder, in Tulalip, WA we were delighted to spot a couple of hummingbirds, at which time he pulled out a feeder and set it up. He hadn't expected to have hummers in fall, but I've since read that they are year-round residents. I didn't know if there would be any hummers around Miami, but set up a feeder and have now hung a second one. I had seen what I believe might be a female ruby throat come to the original feeder and this afternoon, having just hung the second one about noon, there's been what I think is a different one coming to that feeder. How exciting. Thank you so much for having this cam in your yard. I hope Phoebe[s] continue to nest in your rose bush.

Comments: I only discovered this site last year. A passionate Beleef de Lente viewer it spurred me on to look for other nesting sites and I found Phoebe. It was love at first sight! It was heartbreaking seeing her lose two broods to a crow and I fear for future broods as corvids have long memories. Now watching as Phoebe begins nesting again I can only thank you for the delightful pictures you bring in to all our homes of this beautiful and tenacious little bird and pray that the crow has gone to meet his maker!

Comments: I was refered to this site from a friend and watched every video and just loved them. I think my hummers are getting ready to fly south, atleast some of them. I have one straggler we named her chubby because of her weight, and her ability to chase off the others at the feeder, but she is still hanging around, I took 3 of my feeders down today to try and encourage her to leave, but left one just incase any made their way here from Northern Ontario. Too all us hummingbird lovers south of the border please remember to fill your feeders in order to supply energy to our feathered friends on their long journey to warmer climates. I will miss mine tremendously.

Comments: hi there
I can't get enough of Hummies here where I live. When you consider how dangerous it is for them to survive and how tenacious they are in spite of all that ya just gotta love em <3 They come to me every year and I look forward to seeing them. I like it when they come and get their sugar water and then hover close to my face so we are looking eye to eye. We've had a bad drought year this year so I have had to beef up their sugar water changes. I used to have a hummy cam too. I was using a web cam for my computer as the camera and then streaming it thru Yahoo to my friends while we would be chatting. They thought it was neatos to watch em Anyhoo to me they are such charming birds and pretty friendly so my life would be bereft without them. I feel honored by their presence.

I had to have my 19 year old kitty, Pekoe (who was born on our back porch), put down on June 11th. Watching the progression of Phoebe's eggs being laid, to the hatching of Flash and Opal and finally to them fledging the nest helped me get through mourning the loss of my sweet Pekoe-cat. I have always loved hummingbirds and watching Phoebe, Flash and Opal up close was very special! Thanks again!

One comment though, I do think the live comments should be limited to the subject at hand (the hummers!), rather than peoples own personal messages between themselves (i.e. Family Reunions, what's for dinner, the weather etc.) There are enough "Social Media" sites available such as Facebook, Twitter, Live Windows Messenter, E-mail, texting etc. for people to discuss their PERSONAL lives! Just saying!

We've been visiting for two seasons now, and find the site both educational and enjoyable. We have learned so much, not just by watching, but also during the impromptu mini research sessions we conduct after we see behaviors or activities and want to know "why". We have a teenager and two tweens, and all of us found the site really interesting. Thanks so much for expanding our knowledge about hummingbirds! Btw, we now also have a hummingbird feeder of our own, and have tracked the comings and goings of at least two females and a male this season. Yay!

Comments: Thank you so much for having the best ever webcam for watching these amazing hummers...especially Phoebe and her wonderful babies. This season with Flash and Opal was totally the most amazing season. I watch with my granddaughters and the laughter at us squealing with glee with their attempts to take flight this week will be with me forever. It is very educational as well as the most fun.
You are very special people in my book. Thanks for everything.

Comments: Thank you for setting up this nest cam. I love watching, they are so cute. I'm glad to hear schools are using as a teaching aid. I have also watched nest cams from the Cornell Lab of Ornithology. Thank you so very much.

Comments: My Mother is a hummingbird fan, so when someone posted the link on by facebook page a couple of days ago, I decided to check it out. This is day 3 for me and it is absolutely amazing. I got to see Flash leave six times and return 5 times last night, was actually worried about him. Checked in this morning and Opal looked so lonely, came back a few minutes later and Flash was back. It's just amazing!!
Thank you for this.

Comments: Thank you, Mr. P, for making the PhoebeAllen cam available to your viewers. You are doing a fabulous thing here.
I homeschool my three daughters, and we have learned so much by watching this sweet little hummer family and reading information and links shared by the mods. Everyone has been so helpful and gracious, answering newcomers' repetitive questions very courteously. I already brought my mom in from SC, and will also be sharing the site with our homeschooled Girl Scout troop and other friends.

Comments: Was so happy when Mr. P put up netting to protect the nest. I don't think we would have seen Flash and Opal without it. Loving every minute I can watch.
