Thank you so much for your massive web site! I finally "get" the Audubon apps and iBird field guides thanks to you.

I am located very near to you in Norwalk, and I am in my second year watching an Allen's nest outside my bathroom window (no webcam).

Guess what! Today, 5/22/13, I sat indoors and watched the first baby fly, perch, and then hover a little!

I hadn't seen two beaks at the same time, but the first was out and the nest wasn't empty. That means two living babies!

The mother came twice to feed the baby that was out. She gets chased away from flowers, or chases somebody else, so it takes her a long time to collect food. I'm trying to figure out how many individual birds are here, and whether all are Allen's hummingbirds.

But I wanted to tell you that today, I saw the first flying and the first hovering of a baby, and it is a most amazing day. And I saw that both babies survived, and I am happy.

I just wanted to say that we had a hummingbird build a nest on a red bicycle hook on our porch several years back and ever since I've been totally missing this type of miracle. I appreciate so much what you and your staff do to bring this extraordinary opportunity to the masses to view hummingbirds raise their young. I was recently diagnosed with high CRP and high Cortisol levels, and told I MUST find some method of relaxing and calming myself enough to bring them both back down and keeping them down. I ADORE these tiny winged jewels, and feed and watch them in my yard. But to be able to see them raise their young, and see the little ones fledge is truly healing for me. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you!

Delighted to get to see your hummingbird films and photos. Years ago I pinned up a cloth on a window so I could film a cardinal family close to the window. I felt like a real nature film person! It was thrilling. Thank you for sharing your birds. My brother, who lived in CA up by REdding built arbors that were full of them and he even sent me a photo with one resting in his hand. I have shared this with two close friends that also love hummingbirds as well as my daughter Kacey in CA that we will visit next week.
