Thanks for all of the hard work you do filming all the activities at Phoebe's nest. It was really touching to see Phoebe adopt the orphaned baby and raise it as her own.

Hi,Mr. P.,I am back after a few years away!LOVED Phoebe's site for a long time in the day of the fledgling who kept jumping out;u came home to save her!Raised $ for her keepers, poor baby, but she wasn't able to truly leave. We kept our little farm up near C.Hill., and now live near the sea. A lot has happened,this is life.I am grateful for all.I have been learning to teach yoga;it saved me so want to share. Sons healthy, fledged,ha,1 in college,1 graduated. I missed you all, and waited so long-I will drop in more now,& just not stay on all night! There is & was such love and joy here!Whole family knew who Phoebe was. You have grown our beautiful site! I love the familiar names, Olios, c new ones, and the sites of Ms.Phoebe flitting around the ole' rose bush! I just wanted to say that we had a hummingbird build a nest on a red bicycle hook on our porch several years back and ever since I've been totally missing this type of miracle. Thank you for the latest Phoebe webcam. I was able to see the last of the two birdies this morning and when I went back in just now Phoebe was perched on the nest all alone. This has been a delightful yet a bit sad today but I loved it.

I wasn't too interested when my wife started to watch your live cam, but once I started watching, I was hooked. I missed the first fledge, but saw the second one. I was so excited when Tierra finaly fledged, after I waited on and off for two days. I have two hummingbird feeders, but haven't seen any yet. Thank you so much for sharing with us! I appreciate so much what you and your staff do to bring this extraordinary opportunity to the masses to view hummingbirds raise their young. I was recently diagnosed with high CRP and high Cortisol levels, and told I MUST find some method of relaxing and calming myself enough to bring them both back down and keeping them down. I ADORE these tiny winged jewels, and feed and watch them in my yard. But to be able to see them raise their young, and see the little ones fledge is truly healing for me. Thank you. Thank you. Delighted to get to see your hummingbird films and photos. Years ago I pinned up a cloth on a window so I could film a cardinal family close to the window. I felt like a real nature film person! It was thrilling. Thank you for sharing your birds. My brother, who lived in CA up by REdding built arbors that were full of them and he even sent me a photo with one resting in his hand. I liked the humanitarian effort of placing Pip in the nest with Fleur. Problematic question: will Pip, being older and larger, hog all the food and cause the younger Fleur to starve?

I saw her moving a lot a little bit ago and when she lifted up, I'm sure it looked like the other egg was hatched, could see the broken shell. Lovely to watch, thank you so much for sharing. She is such an adorable bird.

Had many hummers when we lived in Walnut Creek Ca.area

but not in Fl.and I miss them.Never saw the nests before.

Today we saw 2 babies and one egg that did not yet hatch. Can someone tell us what happened to the 2nd baby?

Admin reply: She only lays 2 eggs at a time.
One chick has hatched and one to go.

This has been a delight through an unusually chilly Winter for us here. I am not as mobile as I used to be, and now I feel more like the farm girl I used to be, (in NW Washington), discovering birds, and gently peeking into nests from a distance,even if on a ladder,but always enjoying the developments. Now, at 74, I see the lovely Phoebe at her third nest. How precious. How gracious of you to make sure she is visible, and to keep food for her, as well as obviously having mess to clean. All I can say, along with my husband, is thank you.
