Hummingbird Cam Guestbook

One of our viewers Wendy Powell has written a precious book about Phoebe, her phurry and pheatered phriends and chatters. You will feel like you are back on the branch with Phoebe. It is called Phoebe, The Little Hummer That Could and is on sale at Amazon. There are LOTS of pictures of Phoebe and her babies along with the sweet warbler and Thumper the rabbit.

Thank you for the ability to watch wonderful Phoebe raise her young. She was a wonderful hummingbird/mom and will be sorely missed. Can anyone tell me if the May young birds fledged. They were with the rehabber. Best to the hosts on their move/new home.

Admin reply: The chicks fledged from the rehabber's house with about a dozen distant relatives.

I want to wish you both much happiness, and express my gratitude for all of the amazing moments your Phoebe webcam has provided over the past few years.
I discovered it when doing research prompted by a new hummer nest outside our window several years ago (followed by another, then both still being "re-used" each year), and loved your "bird's eye view" of what we could only watch from below here at home. I learned so much, laughed and even shed a tear or two, and thank you from the bottom of my heart for all of your efforts. I wish you all the best in the future. Thank you!

So sorry to learn that webcam is permanently off line. Have been following hummer hatchings for several years and will miss the little critters. I even got my sister hooked on it. While we both provide sustenance for them, neither of us have ever been so lucky to find a nest. My thanks to all involved for this close-up look at one of nature's little wonders.

Most importantly I thank Mr & Mrs P for providing this wonderful cam offering such an incredible view into the life of hummingbirds. I found Phoebe from an eagle cam site I had been watching and was hooked!:p Mr & Mrs P opened a new world to so many of us. I just want them to know how much I have appreciated this view of a 'little' world I knew was there - somewhere - but they brought it into view for us all. It hasn't always been what we wanted - Mother Nature has her own game book, but we have all rallied together and learned so much from this experience. I am sad to see it come to an end, but know now there is more to see in the amazing world around us. THANK YOU!! :!party:

Thank you. Thank you. I have been watching Phoebe for a few years now and I must say that she has provided me with great pleasure. I have a screen shot, that I printed from this year, in 8 x 10 format, that shows Phoebe feeding her recently hatched chicks. There is still the empty eggshell in the nest. I was saddened by the news that the chicks had to go to the nursery but was glad that they made it. Thank you so much for the opportunity to watch the hummingbirds! I even showed my kindergarten class. They were amazed! Again, thank you so much! If you would like to see the picture of Phoebe and her chicks that I have, then please email me and I will send to you! I would like to do that! I tried to send it with this comment but I cannot upload anything. So please email me, you will love the pic!...and again Thank You!

Dearest Phoebe,

I miss you so much. I took one of the pics of her and I don't remember which brood and made it my screen saver.

Mr. and Mrs. P how wonderful you have been to have brought this to us. I would love to know where you are moving. I'm certain this must be hard for you too. I feel confident you will set up your new sanctuary and if it's possible, we'll all be together again.

Much love and light to you and Mrs. P. You are forever in our hearts. I'm so glad I was able to get my Phoebe T-shirt when I did. I feel like I have a little piece of all three of you.

Best wishes in your new locale.

Sure will miss you. I have learned so much. When I first started watching, I dreamed I moved into your house to "help" with the hummers ; ) Mr. P was doing brain surgery in the living room. I cut back a little after that! thanks for sharing Phoebe with all of us.

I had the greatest time watching Phoebe. Learned so much and was so grateful to Mr. P. I watched him rescue babies from a lizard, watched him place an orphan in a nest, watched him give babies over to rehabber and so much more. Will miss you Mr. P.

I can only imagine begin to imagine all the work involved to keep the video going, the birds content and the stream/chat safe. Also thanks to all the moderators for sharing their knowledge, insights and for reassurance when things at the nest seemed a little odd to us newbies. These wildlife webcams show what really matters in life and how much we humans take for granted.

I've only been lurking since early 2013, but my favorite memories were Pip's adoption and Fleur's fledge - where Pip came back to encourage Fleur. Of course there is also that priceless scap of Phoebe at the nest after Tierra finally fledged. You could feel the gears turning in these birds' minds.

Many many thanks for hosting this webcam and I wish you both well in your new home and new endeavors! :)

Just wanted to thank you for the many hours of enjoyment I had watching this website and learning about these amazing little birds. It was so exciting to see the different stages of their growth - from nest building to fledge.
I truly am grateful. I will miss it.
Best wishes in your new journey and Thanx!

I am so sad to hear that you will not continue your webcam. I began watching in 2012 with Flash and Opal and laughed so much at their fledging antics. And, I have cried over the losses suffered this past season. I never did joint the chat, but know that my feelings were shared with lots of people. It has been a joy watching up close and personal and getting to know the habits of these wonderful birds. It has also been great watching the rehabber nurse the tiny babies to maturity--quite remarkable that they survive. We have hummers in Idaho, but it is a short season, and they are not as plentiful as in CA. I watch them as often as I can, and when they are not here, I watched yours! Thank you for the wonderful memories!!
